Life of immense suffering and pain marked the life of the famed Padre Pio.The stigmata along with the ability to bilocate were daunting signs to those that see with only their eyes. Padre Pio foretold of a young Pope John Paul II's ascendancy to the papal throne. Were his miracles the work of a madmen able to seduce the poor and ignorant? Was he truly blessed by the hand of God to inspire others with his faith?
He was either one of the great modern religious frauds of the 20th century or a humble man rising to the Lord's call to serve.
Graham Greene once described his experience ( see excerpt from article):
After hearing the saint Padre Pio say Mass, Greene was "profoundly moved" and he lost "the sense of time." Afterwards, through a messenger, Padre Pio invited Greene, who was visiting the monastery with his mistress, to come and meet him. But Greene's reaction was "I didn't want to change my life by meeting a saint."
The real question is what constitutes a miracle for you? Is it the end, the means or both? What would you want to change(or not) in your life?
PS. You, dear reader, are the true miracle and can enact change at anytime, anyplace and any when.
