The Sugar Blessing

A biologist claims to have extended a life of worm by 6 times its normal life expectancy by inhibiting a gene. The bigger bonus on this discovery is that the worm maintained vitality and activeness right up to the crushing end.

The poor worm was at the forefront of my thought. Why would the worm want to live 6 times longer? To make a Frankenstein biologist with a god-complex happy? No, the average life span is sufficient for a worm.

Even more daunting is that sugar is bad for us and causes us to crave more sugar. The sugar is bad for our bodies when we eat refined foods causing breakdown in tissues and cells. How shocking! Like I already didn't know that just one cupcake isn't enough.

Dear reader, do you really desire to outlive Methuselah?

Take the opportunity instead to enjoy the moments you have now and bless each day with the best you can possibly give and receive. Ultimately, it isn't the number of days you squandered with frivolities but the minutes you really lived that encompass your true life experience.
